Your safety is our primary concern. Our Ski Patrol is on the mountain to make sure you have a safe day on the slopes and all members of Marble Mountain’s Ski Patrol are trained and certified by the Canadian Ski Patrol System (CSPS). They’re easy to find – just look for their bright yellow and blue coats and backpacks with the CSPS badge.
We want you to have fun on our mountain and the only way to have a carefree winter is to follow some basic safety guidelines.
ALPINE RESPONSIBILITY CODE
There are elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Whenever you’re on the slopes, show courtesy to others. Please adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code and share with others the responsibility for a safe outdoor experience.
SMART STYLE - FREESTYLE TERRAIN & TERRAIN PARK SAFETY
Play it safe when you use the Terrain Park and Freestyle Terrain. Because nothing ruins a great day on the mountain like an injury. GET SMART. Read up at www.terrainparksafety.org.
HELMET USAGE
Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to educate themselves on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage. At Marble Mountain, helmets are mandatory for the following groups:
- Terrain Park and Freestyle Terrain users
- Children participating in the School Alpine Program
- Children in our season long programs
HILL SIGNAGE
Marginal Conditions
These signs are used to identify runs that have limited snow cover, or conditions that are less than favorable but are still determined to be “skiable”. These runs may have exposed rocks, grass and dirt. These runs may also present conditions that are out of our control due to the weather at the time. Incurring damage to your skis or snowboard on these and all runs is possible. It is best to familiarize yourself with these runs and ski/ride with caution. Ski Patrol may mark some hazards on these runs and perform a sweep at the end of the ski day to evaluate the conditions.
Trail Boundary
This sign indicates the boundary of Marble Mountain’s patrolled area. Skiing and riding outside this boundary is not permitted. Your pass will be taken if you ski out of bounds. This sign indicates that there are no marked hazards, no patrol and no sweep. If you are lost or injured beyond this point Ski Patrol will not be checking there at the end of the day. This is why it is very important to obey this and all signs.
Proper Devices Must be Worn To Prevent Runaway Gear
This sign is a reminder that while skiing or snowboarding you must have proper devices to prevent runaway gear. Specifically, snowboarders, snowbladers and telemarkers must always use a leash and skiers must always be sure their braking system is in proper operating order. This is mandatory before loading any lift at Marble Mountain.
APPROVED ALPINE EQUIPMENT
The following types of alpine equipment are permitted on Marble Mountain:
- Downhill skis
- Telemark skis
- Snowboard (with leash)
- Snow Blades
