Position Summary:

The Food & Beverage Manager must possess the zest that makes magic happen. He or she will oversee the management, budget and operation of all food & beverage units, catering services and kitchen, and maintain a close liaison with the sales department to ensure maximum profitability. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing the success of special events, the maintenance of the base lodge buildings and supervising the summer grounds keeper.

 

Basic Responsibilities:
  • Must constantly be circulating throughout all areas of responsibility, maintaining a high profile with customers and employees.

  • Responsible for managing food costs, upholding menu standards and controlling inventory and wastage.

  • Create event-specific menus for occasions such as seasonal holidays, banquets, conventions and catered meetings.

  • Ensure that operational standards are met in regards to sanitation and food storage regulations as well as loss prevention.

  • Ensure that both the Front & Back of the House” areas operate effectively and efficiently.

  • Work and develop relationships with external suppliers to ensure Marble Mountain Resort receives the service required to deliver the highest quality product, and the highest financial return.

  • Responsible for maintaining and helping enforce the brand standards for each unit by constantly reviewing the service, product range and quality assurance are maintained.

  • Resort representative for Special Events, working each special event as the resort duty manager. This will involve all planning associated with each event, right through to delivery.

  • Liaise with the Sales and Marketing team to collate and respond to all customer correspondence, ensuring this is communicated to the entire Food and Beverage team, where appropriate.

  • Responsible for ensuring “spend per head” is increased year over year, without jeopardizing guest satisfaction and quality.

  • Manage the gratuity arrangement, allocating and verifying this process, highlighting and acting on any anomalies.

  • Create and be required to operate within efficient labor budgets for each season.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new ideas and menu specifications each season, ensuring they are of high quality for our guests.

  • Consistently review products delivered to ensure KPIs are met and address any shortcomings with suppliers.

  • Take ownership of the catering menus, preparing and signing them off seasonally, in conjunction with the Sales Team.

  • Provide an environment of openness and trust, with constant feedback and performance coaching.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and positive communications with stakeholder groups including guests, partners, employees, suppliers and community members.

  • Anticipate challenges and opportunities and develop and implement innovative solutions for them.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Every resort employee must protect his/her health and safety and the health and safety of other employees by following legislative requirements and safe work practices and by reporting unsafe conditions they observe.  Furthermore, managers are responsible for workers' occupational health and safety at the workplace and will strive to protect workers from injury and illness related to work.  A healthy and safe workplace will be created in consultation and cooperation between management, employees, and the health and safety committee.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in business and a passion for and comprehension of the culinary industry or a red seal chef with extensive management experience.

  • 3+ years food and beverage management experience.

  • Exceptional leadership, people management, organizational, and motivational skills while forging a fun and respectful environment.

  • Superior communication and time management skills.

  • Adventurous, creative and open-minded.

  • Ability to set priorities, think strategically and be action oriented.

  • Capable of adjusting to changing priorities.

  • Proficient with current technology including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and with property management & control systems.

  • Responsibilities frequently require an adjusted work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet resort operating demands.

  • A background in the ski industry preferable.

Position Status: This position is for one (2) on call, live-in manager. The successful candidates must remain onsite for assigned weeknights (4:30pm to 8:30am) and alternate weekends as scheduled by Resort Management.

 

Position Summary: In this live-in position, you will be responsible for the after-hours (outside of regular resort office hours) management and customer service of Marble Villa, Marble Mountain Resort's slope-side accommodation. 

 

Duties:

  • To continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and employee’s as the best mountain experience.

  • Work in a professional manner and be able use “positive language” to interact with guests and co-workers.

  • Prepare and perform daily check-ins and check-outs, night audit (daily reporting), and accept payments.

  • Communicate with the Accommodation Manager, Villa Desk Clerk, and Housekeeping team to ensure daily cleanings and room checks are being performed.

  • Accept bookings and other resort inquiries by way of a resort provided, after-hours cell phone.

  • Respond to guest needs and concerns after hours.

  • Enforce building rules and regulations after hours and report any unruly behavior to the Accommodation Manager.

  • Respond to after-hours alarm calls from the main lodge.

  • Work closely with the Accommodation Manager to ensure the highest guest satisfaction and assist in providing solutions to common hospitality related issues.

  • Communicate any maintenance needs to the Accommodation Manager, as they arise.

  • Prepare vouchers / tickets for guest pick-up for activities external to Marble Mountain Resort and handle bookings for said activities (zip tours, snowmobile rentals, etc).

  • Light building maintenance.

  • The above duties are shared with a second Manager on Duty and an on-duty schedule is followed.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education level preferred.

  • Clean criminal record check.

  • Experience working with a computerized reservation system and handling payments (cash and credit card transactions).

  • 3 years’ experience in an administrative roll (hospitality experience preferred).

  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills (both on the phone and via email).

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - Be a team player with all employees & volunteers of Marble Mountain Resort.

  • Adaptability - The successful candidate must remain onsite for assigned weeknights (4:30pm to 8:30am) and alternate weekends as scheduled by Resort Management.

  • Experience in the hospitality industry (particularly in the hotel or ski industry) is an asset.

  • Previous building supervisory experience is an asset.

Position Summary: The primary duties of The Catering Server position includes, but not limited to, the setup, cleaning, and organization for the event and the service of food and alcohol to event guests.

 

Duties:

  • To continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and employee’s as the best mountain experience.

  • Advise guests of any activities happening both at the resort and in the surrounding area.

  • Must be able to work in a professional manner and be able use “positive language” to explain technical terms to guest in a manner that they will understand.

  • Moving of chairs and tables and support furniture to a set plan per event.

  • General cleaning and preparation of all guest areas before, during and after the event.

  • Delivery of food and beverage to a guest and the removal of dishes, glassware, and service

  • Assist co-workers in the execution of their duties if required and able.

  • Willing to join OHS committee and undergo training and activities if required

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2 years’ experience in a guest service roll.

  • 2 years’ experience in the catering, bar, or restaurant industry

  • Of legal age to serve Alcohol

  • Organizational and motivational skills and the will to achieve a goal while forging a fun and respectful environment for all.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Position Summary: The primary duties of a bartender includes, but not limited to, the dispensing and selling of alcohol and other beverage products, maintaining acceptable standards of cleanliness in the bar and vicinity, table service, table cleaning and food service, handling guest inquires, cash handling and inventory duties.

 

Duties:

  • To continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and employee’s as the best mountain experience.

  • Have excellent knowledge of all of Marble Mountain Resorts products including all beverage and food products, life tickets and passes, Marble Villa, rentals, and upcoming events and be able to communicate this knowledge to our guests

  • Must be able to work in a professional manner and be able use “positive language” to explain technical terms to guest in a manner that they will understand.

  • Enter food & beverages purchases into fully integrated hospitably management system.

  • Accept cash, bankcards or credit cards for payment, completes transactions according to established procedure and maintain a daily tab for guests.

  • Responsible for all end of day process including cash reports, deposits and documents discrepancies.

  • Maintain organization & cleanliness of all areas including bar, storage areas, office and employee areas.

  • Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages including coffee products as ordered and in compliance with company standards.

  • Daily duties include cleaning of glassware, garnish preparation, product rotation, food service at bar and to tables, organization of recyclables and removal of garbage, stocking bar before and after a shift with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, garnish’s, napkins, or straws.

  • Inventory control including daily and weekly counts, wastage and spill reports, promotional reports, and order requests.

  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

  • Assist co-workers in the execution of their duties if required and able. We work as a team at Marble Mountain and no employee is above helping their teammates if they have the time and ability to do so.

  • Willing to join OHS committee and undergo training and activities if required

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Advanced degrees or certification preferred.

  • 2 years’ experience in guest service roll preferred.

  • 2 years’ of bartending/food and alcohol service experience 

  • Current Food safe or other F&B related training/certificate

  • 2 years’ experience with operating a fully integrated hospitably management system or equivalent computerized point of sale system that recorded and received payment from guest.

  • Certificate of conduct from RNC may be required.

  • Proven organizational, and motivational skills and will achieve this while forging a fun and respectful environment for all.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - Be a team player with all employees & volunteers of Marble Mountain.
