Cook II - Food Service
Full time – Seasonal

 

Job description:
The primary duties of this position will be food preparation on a short order and banquet / catered events basis. Must be able to communicate and co-ordinate with co-workers to ensure that the service of food is efficient/timely and that the quality of food exceeds the customer's expectations. Also assists in maintaining all aspects of sanitation and cleanliness of work areas and general equipment maintenance. Sets a fine example as to reliability, punctuality, attendance and grooming. This position also contributes to a progressive work environment by offering suggestions and ideas for improvement. This position also requires solid food preparation knowledge and skills, and as well experience in purchasing and receiving. Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:
This person will be required to have undergone a formal food preparation course with a minimum of 2nd or 3rd year apprentice. A combination of training and experience will be considered. Three to five years experience in a full service restaurant and or catering facility setting would be a definite asset. This position is seasonal or as dictated in employment agreement.

Ski Patroller


Position Summary: The primary duty of the Ski Patrol is to provide safety, first aid and rescue services for all guests and employees of Marble Mountain Resort. Candidates must exhibit strong skiing or snowboarding skills.

Duties:
  • To continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and employee’s as the best mountain experience.
  • Advise guests of any activities happening both at the resort and in the surrounding area during their stay.
  • Must be able to work in a professional manner and be able to explain technical terms to guest in a manner that the guests will understand.
  • Responsible for following all safety guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain organization & cleanliness of all areas including patrol rooms.
  • Able to keep records in the prescribed manner.
  • All members of the patrol team must attend and successfully complete the annual ski patrol training including valid CPR certificate, lift evacuation and toboggan handling. Additionally, participate in any ongoing training throughout the ski season to ensure skills are maintained.
  • Daily mountain maintenance of trail signage, fencing, hazard marking and mitigation, snow shoveling and general mountain clean-up.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • “CSPS or current CPR/AED training required.
  • Previous training in first aid is an asset.
  • A self-starter with the ability to facilitate and coordinate day-to-day operations.
  • Exceptional organizational, and motivational skills and will achieve this while forging a fun and respectful environment for all.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - Be a team player with all employees of Marble Mountain including Volunteer Patrol.
  • The ability to set priorities and be action oriented.
  • Adaptability - Capable of adjusting to changing priorities. Able to ski or snowboard to any location within the area’s boundaries of the lift serviced area. Must also be able to handle a loaded toboggan on any trail or location. Responsibilities frequently require an adjusted work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet resort operating demands.
  • Working knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment.
Hours of work: Full-time
Wage: $13.50 per hour (as per collective agreement)
